Mushet, Robert Forester
(1811, Coleford, Gloucestershire, Inglaterra–ene. 1891, Coleford).

Fabricante de acero británico, hijo del maestro fundidor David Mushet (n. 1772–m. 1847). En 1868 descubrió que al añadir tungsteno al acero su dureza aumentaba notablemente aun cuando se enfriara al aire, con lo que obtuvo la primera aleación de acero comercial. El acero al tungsteno fue la base del desarrollo de los aceros de herramientas para el trabajo de metales. Mushet también descubrió que la adición de manganeso al acero producido por el proceso Bessemer mejoraba su capacidad para resistir el laminado y la forja a altas temperaturas.
